Citizens from countries that can enter Turkey without visa/with only e-visa do not have to apply for student visa for student exchange program. Please check your country’s status from the related webpage of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and also the passport validity requirements.

Please note that you must enter Turkey with your passport in order to be able to apply for residence permit. Please do not enter Turkey with your national ID even if you can.

Once you are in Turkey, you must apply for residence permit within 90 days of your arrival. The detailed information on residence permit will be given during Orientation Programme organized by Erasmus Office and a separate guide explaining the process will be shared.

What you need apply for residence permit is summarized below:

  • Application Form from https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr
  • A copy of your passport, visa page (if applicable), the page with stamp (entrance)
  • 4 photographs (biometric, you can bring with you if it is recent or have it taken in Turkey)
  • Health Insurance (you can bring home country insurance or purchase one here)
  • Student Certificate from Altınbaş University (will be provided by the Registrar’s Office)
  • Payment Receipt of the Residence Permit Card Fee – approx. 125₺- subject to change each year
  • Declaration of Financial Capacity and Address Notification (will be provided by Erasmus Office)
  • Declaration of Notification (Tebliğ-Tebellüğ) (will be provided by Erasmus Office)
  • Your Acceptance Letter to Altınbaş University (you will be granted residence permit till the date indicated on your Acceptance Letter so in case you plan to extend your stay, you must notify Erasmus Office before handing out your residence permit documents in order to have your residence permit until the end of your stay)

The deadline for submission of documents will be announced by Erasmus Office. Before the deadline you should submit your documents to Erasmus Office, who then will submit your documents on your behalf to Directorate of Migration.
